Backups & recovery

Choose the recovery objective first, then the method and retained storage.

Security & backup

Image backups and storage vaults so a bad day stays recoverable.

From E79/month

A saved copy is only useful if you can restore it

Backups protect a specific recovery objective: a lost file, an application database or an entire server. Object storage gives you somewhere to keep copies; a server image is another recovery tool. Neither proves that an application can be restored consistently within a promised time.

How this service works

The reviewed proposals include image-backup add-ons for particular VPS tiers, retained-object vaults and bounded assisted restore sessions. Vault capacity counts every retained version. WordPress recovery copies and standalone vaults share the same capacity ledger, so that storage is not sold twice. Regions, retention and successful restore results remain pilot gates.

What happens next

Setup and handover

  1. Identify the systems and data that need protection, and agree what a usable recovery point means.
  2. Choose an image or application-aware copy method and reserve all retained storage.
  3. Restrict credentials and test job completion, retention and access to the destination.
  4. Perform an isolated restore, record the result and separately agree any response or recovery promise.

Good to know

Questions before you choose

Does a vault automatically back up my computer?

No. A vault is a destination. Backup agents, application jobs, licences and scheduling must be selected and configured separately.

Does a server image include attached block storage?

Do not assume it does. The Vultr image add-on excludes attached blocks; application-consistent databases and additional storage need their own method.

Is emergency recovery unlimited?

No. An assisted restore session has a bounded labour scope. Major recovery, forensic work, missing credentials or inaccessible copies require an assessment.

Are recovery times guaranteed?

No recovery time or point guarantee is sold on this preview. A supplier feature description is not an exercised Phones R Us recovery service.
